Meditative Novena to St Joseph
This powerful novena consists in turning to Joseph and honoring him by meditating on these four points. It does not matter where or when during the day.
1. St. Joseph’s faithfulness to God’s grace. Think of the times in Joseph’s life when he responding generously to God’s call and inspirations. Thank God, and ask St Joseph’s help in responding faithfully to God’s invitations and grace.
2. St. Joseph’s fidelity to prayer, listening to God, and virtue. Reflect on what Joseph must have been like, the way he carried out his daily labor, how he led his family in prayer, what kind of virtue must have marked his daily living. Thank God and ask through St Joseph to be faithful to virtue, prayer, and the Christian life.
3. St. Joseph’s love for Mary. Imagine the house of Nazareth where Joseph lived with Jesus and Mary. Let his care for her impress itself on your heart. See how he prayed with her, provided for her, and shared with her the responsibility of raising Jesus. Thank God and ask through St Joseph the grace to love Mary and to remain close to her all through your life.
4. St. Joseph’s love for Jesus. Imagine how much Joseph must have loved Jesus. What was his heart when Jesus was born, when he took his first steps, said his first words, went to the Temple for the first time, finished building his first table…. Thank God and ask through St Joseph the grace to love Jesus as he did.
This novena, going back to Father Louis Lallemant, S. J. (1588-1635), has proven to be highly efficacious.

Novena to St. Joseph (prayed for nine days)
O glorious St. Joseph, you who are the good and faithful servant to whom God committed the care of His Family, whom he appointed guardian and protector for the life of Jesus Christ, the comfort and support of His holy Mother, and instrument in His great design of the Redemption of mankind; you who had the happiness of living with Jesus and Mary, and of dying in their arms; chaste spouse of the Mother of God’ model and patron of pure souls; humble, patient and reserved; be moved with the confidence we place in your intercession’ accept with kindness this testimony of our devotion, and procure for us from Almighty God the particular favors which we humbly solicit through your intercession. (ask for the grace that you wish to obtain)

Novena for a Happy Death
Blessed St. Joseph, you had the happiness of living with Jesus and Mary, and of dying in their arms; chaste spouse of the mother of God; model and patron of pure souls; humble, patient and reserved; be moved with the confidence we place in your intercession; accept with kindness this testimony of our devotion, and procure for us from Almighty God the particular favors which we humbly solicit through your intercession.

Prayer Request for a New Special Friendship
This special friendship, while blossoming, is getting much interference especially from the one who is deeply jealous of it. May God protect it, bless it and let any fears and awkwardness dissolve so it can be as blessed and natural as God meant it to be so that there is always peace when they are together. The she is solid in her faith and the he is growing in his faith (the reason for his connection with her…he’s never seen the real thing) but is feeling depressed about his past and without hope. May he treasure this new gift and may God guide her to give him the hope he needs to fly.
Dear St. Joseph. I BEG you to intercede for me this day. Please ask God to restore my relationship with J and let it grow even more. Please let me hear from J TODAY as a sign of hope that we will be reconciled! I desperately need your visible and speedy help, St. Joseph. J tells everyone how sad & alone he is; if he would just accept my love and care, he wouldn’t be and I, too, would not be sad & alone anymore. I do not know what caused the distance between us. Sr Kathryn my priest is a stubborn highly~strung man, who when i snapped at him once for making a gesture that seemed like he was being frustrated with me very much, despite several apologies and trying to mend fences, had a hunted look on his face as though I was a crank for the first year. I tried to say sorry but he blanked me once and another time refused to shake hands at the back of church after Mass. Even after a quiet word from the closest person in the parish to him, he still treats me with an air of resignation “you, again” almost. Pray for a healing to God and St Joseph please .

In January at three months pregnant I suffered a miscarriage. In June I found out I was blessed again with another pregnancy. At my 5 month checkup last week I was given the bad news that I have an incompetent cervix and it has dilated to .5cm. The advise given from the doctors was to terminate the pregnancy as only a miracle can save this pregnancy. I refused to believe them as I truly believe in miracles and prayers. Jesus my Lord remove out the chain that prevent me to make a Cross transfer for the post of Senior Private Secretary SP2. Make a new rule in the OPM office that People should make a cross transfer where they want including Senior Private Secretary. I want to go back to my house but the old government policy is preventing me to go. Jesus I trust you with my whole heart, make a new rule with your power to let me make a cross transfer to Oshakati, Ogwediva, Ondangwa. Please pray for me brothers and sister.

Please pray for me. This may seem trivial but I am 23 and I am in a very tough nursing program. I’m a bright student and have never failed a class in my life. I am currently failing a class terribly and I economically and mentally can’t handle failing and being a year behind. Please please help me pray that I pass and move on to my senior year. I would be absolutely devastated if I failed… I’m trying not to lose hope even after failing several times.

I often think St. Joseph thought about inferiority sometimes. After all, he was living with God and God’s mother! He was definitely no comparison! And I think that is what he might have come to in his reflections. That he didn’t need to be compare himself to others. Instead he had to be himself, the man for whom God had a mission–to care for his Son and Mary. He was willing to learn from his Son even as he taught him many things a father teaches a child. He was willing to learn from Mary even as she humbly asked his advice, help, and protection. God has a mission for you. He created you with great love for a purpose. He filled you with special gifts. Some people have talents galore. Others don’t seem to. But what really counts is the spirit with which we live our lives and love others. Joseph after Jesus was born had to become very attuned to God’s workings in his life in order to be the father on earth Jesus needed. You will also if you wish to live entirely your unique call.
