St. Joseph knew that he was “only” a servant, but it was Jesus who taught him that he was a son. God became man so that we might become the sons of God. Can you imagine the purity and the intensity in the gaze between Joseph and Jesus, this man who was a most obedient servant of God and the Son of God whose very being was total love and an obedient response to the Father? Two who shared this single bond of utter trust in the Father and utter obedience. This is the company into which St. Joseph invites you and me.
