St. Joseph was asked by God the Father to watch over Mary and Jesus. He was placed to watch over the Mother of Hope, Dawn of the New World so she could carry out her own mission of bringing Jesus into the world.
St. Joseph, watch over us so we may advance confidently on the paths of peace and justice.
Help us serve the Gospel of Jesus.
Watch over us St. Joseph. Live in our midst as our guide until all of us can say: “Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev 22:20)

St. Joseph the Family Man

Jesus came to earth by way of a Family. A Father, A Mother, and a Child. He could have come by way of the desert; he could have just appeared on earth. But Jesus, the Son of God and Savior of the world came to us by way of the family. A Father, a Mother, and a most holy Child.
Jesus sanctified the Family, therefore, and the salvation of society always comes through the Family.
St. Joseph, as head of his family, is the role model for all fathers. His wisdom, care and concern for each member of his family was first and foremost upon his mind. He is a true family man, and fathers can turn to him in every situation in which they find themselves.

To be a Friend of St. Joseph

Friends are alike in many ways. They enjoy the same things and share freely with one another. They also try to practice each others’ virtues and help each other overcome faults. In many ways, people find reflections of themselves in their friends. We can experience the same with St. Joseph, our friend.
If we are friends with St. Joseph, we must try to make ourselves like him, at least spiritually. We can learn from him the influence of a good conscience that empowers us to be just and obliges us to work in the service of God, no matter our state in life. We can carry out our tasks with courage, trust and faith in God’s loving plan for our lives, just like he did. On his part, St. Joseph gives his friends blessings of peace of mind and heart. He invites them to follow his example and offer that same blessing to others. St. Joseph, make me your friend.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!

Joseph and Mary always made important decisions together. When we have come through great trials and find Jesus, let us offer our gift of suffering through the hands of Joseph and Mary, in Jesus name. Joseph, the protector of Mary and Jesus will handle it with great care and see to it that our gift, no matter how humble, is presented to the heavenly Father.

St. Joseph’s Spiritual Children

St. Joseph had the special mission of raising the Son of God; and in heaven, he has many spiritual children. His mission on earth was multiplied in eternity and he is the designated spiritual father of those who turn to him in faith. What does a father on earth do? He protects his children, watches over them and nourishes them. He makes sure they are healthy in body and soul. Above all, a father teaches his children how to grow into mature adults who can face the world in strength and without fear.
St. Joseph performs all these things for his spiritual children, and more. He especially keeps the word of God alive and fresh in humble hearts. Truly St. Joseph is our spiritual father and we are his children forever.

To Behold St. Joseph’s Face

Is it possible to look at someone and see them “inside-out”?

Well! Yes it is. Did you ever have a friend who is…a real “plain Jane” or “No one special”? Yet when you look at the face of your friend, you see goodness, kindness, gentleness, self-sacrifice and many virtues shining out from their soul. You see them for “what they are,” even though no one else sees beyond their plainness.

This is how we “see” St. Joseph’s face: “inside-out”! We have no real picture of him, but we can imagine all his virtues and so picture his face when we pray or speak to him.
Try this little skill and find yourself drawing closer to behold the face of Joseph every day.

St. Joseph’s Real Miracles

Why don’t you ask St. Joseph to help you see how you can grow and blossom with respect to your desire. St. Joseph learned early on that he needed to be part of the solution, and often it meant alot of inner work and change on his part, his plans, his desires, his feelings…. Ultimately St. Joseph will prepare you for the dream for which you were created. Sometimes that dream, planted in us by God, is a surprise even to us!

St. Joseph and the Word of God

The Word of God was sent by God and lived among us. Jesus the Son of God is God’s Word.
St. Joseph protects the Word of God in us.
St. Joseph places God’s Word firmly in our hearts.
St. Joseph teaches us the joy of knowing the Word of God.
If St. Joseph does all this so that Jesus, God’s Word of Love, might live in our minds, wills and hearts, should we not place our trust in St. Joseph’s love and care for everything we need?

To all who post their needs and prayer requests on this blog, I want to assure you that good St. Joseph will assist all who open themselves with confident trust in God, seeking his will as best you can, trusting in our Good and tender and compassionate Heavenly Father, Jesus, Mary, and St. Joseph. Confidence and trust and holy abandonment and loving patience are the road we must walk, knowing God wants and loves the best for each of his children. I encourage all to continue praying, asking God to help you carry your cross which is part of the paschal mystery of Jesus in his offering his life for each one without exception. I and all the sisters carry you in our hearts and souls before God and St. Joseph. You are in our daily prayers, and we are offering our little and big sacifices for each and every one of you. I am still recuperating from an illness and am not able to respond to everyone. But keep up your courage, confidence and trust and your best effort, even if it seems to be little. Prayer is always answered. I pray for you all every day. May God bless you! Please remember me in your charity and prayers. Thank you SO MUCH!

St. Joseph and our dark fears

St. Joseph lived with the conviction that God was totally on his side. He had to suffer, but he was certain that God would take care, even if his courage fell short of all expectations. Knowing this, we can pray to St. Joseph in our darkest hours, when there seems to be no more hope and Joseph will offer us the light of his own faith and hope…the two virtues that braced him in life. When we pray to Joseph, he quickly offers us his strong hands; perhaps not to banish the troubles we find ourselves in, but to help us through the situation. Truly St. Joseph will be with us in our sorrows and trials. He will teach us not to be afraid of the future and he will help us watch for the glimmer of new light upon the dark path that we fear so much. Sr. Mary Elizabeth
